Task time log, week of ____
| Day | Task | Start | End | Minutes | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weekly total (minutes) | |||||
Print one sheet per week, or use the CSV and insert new rows above the total row.
How to fill it in
- Pick one normal week. Skip holidays and the week of a big event.
- Add a row each time you switch to a different kind of task. Use the 24-hour clock or am/pm, and stay consistent.
- Name the task by what it is, for example quote follow-up emails, not admin.
- Minutes is End minus Start. Work it out at the end of the day, not in the moment.
- Write in Notes anything you think a tool could have done.
- On Friday add up Minutes by task. The weekly total is the time your week actually used.
What it does not tell you
A time log shows where the minutes go. It does not say which tasks AI can do well, or what a mistake would cost. That is the next step, and the one I help with.
Questions people ask
How long should I log for?
One normal working week is enough to see the pattern. Longer logs are harder to keep up.
Do I log every minute?
No. Log blocks of work of about ten minutes or more, and group the tiny interruptions under one row.
Can I use it for my team?
Yes. Give each person a copy and add their name in the Notes column, then combine the totals.
